This ^^ is just a pretty photo that I liked! It’s a rare model-shot of Kendall Jenner where she doesn’t look dead-eyed and bored. I’m shocked that Vogue didn’t use this! Anyway, as we all know by now, Kendall Jenner is a successful model. She makes millions of dollars a year from modeling on runways, modeling contracts, endorsements, side-projects like her fashion line, and from the reality show, of course. Kendall bought herself a nice house in LA a while ago, but she has barely been in town long enough to really decorate her house at all. So she’s been working with a decorator named Martyn Lawrence Bullard, who has helped her find some nice, interesting pieces for her home. Obviously, when you hire a fancy decorator, you’re not just going to go down to Crate & Barrel and say “I want this whole spread!” No. Instead, you shell out $52,000 for this “couch.”

Seriously. Would you pay $52K for this? Would you pay $2000 for it? I would not. Personally, if you told me this was an amazing piece of contemporary art, I would probably believe you. I think it’s interesting to look at, it’s striking and interesting and if it was a sculpture, sure, I would find it compelling. But as a COUCH??? Kendall explained what happened on her app:

“Slowly but surely, my house is finally getting decorated!” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star shared on her app this week. “It’s definitely a process and a lot more work than I anticipated. I’m glad I’m taking it slow and only getting things I really love. And, my interior decorator, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, has been a huge help in finding unique pieces.”

Kendall, who celebrates her 21st birthday tomorrow, went on to gush about her new couch, which can cost up to—wait for it!—a whopping $52,000.

“Recently, I realized I’d been really good and came in way under budget on my furniture allowance,” the model continued. “I got super excited and bought another amazing couch. One day, I just had a vision about the entry room and knew exactly what it needed. As soon as I saw the couch, I fell in love. The ‘Boa’ by Edra couch is all woven and a really groovy navy with purple shimmer. It works perfectly in the space! I still have a long way to go, but am having so much fun along the way!”

It’s her money and she can spend it how she wants. I bet in a few months, she might actually regret not spending more time at Pottery Barn though. Which brings me to a different point – the Kardashian-Jenners don’t really have the best taste in interior design, at least from what I’ve seen of their houses on the reality show. Everything always looks like a tacky, nouveau-riche starter mansion with no personality and everything is always decorated in white, beige and gold, maybe some black. So in some ways, Kendall’s purchase of this insane couch is sort of off-brand.
