Georges St Pierre walked away from mixed martial arts on Thursday and a glittering UFC career that lasted 17 years.

That's not an easy question to answer for a man that was a two-division champion and one of the standard bearers in the sport, but here is our list below:

UFC 154: Vs Carlos Condit - November 17, 2012

This was an absolute war and well worth your time to revisit. Rush hadn't lost in five years and nine fights by the time he stepped inside the octagon with the dangerous Condit and he provided one of his sternest tests.

Condit would badly hurt GSP in the third round with a devastating headkick, but St-Pierre was able to take and hold down Condit repeatedly during the bout. St Pierre wore Condit down, defended multiple submission attempts and delivered multiple strikes from an incoming Condit. Both participants earned Fight of the Night honors for their warrior-like performances, but St Pierre got the job done when it looked most unlikely.

UFC 65 - Vs Matt Hughes II - November 18, 2005

When Matt Hughes defeated St Pierre at UFC 50 for the vacant UFC Welterweight Championship, there was no way GSP was going to go away.

After submitting to an armbar in the first round of their first meeting an experiencing the first loss of his career, St Pierre would go on a five-win streak before delivering a brutal knockout sequence in the second round of his second clash with Hughes that featured a head kick and punches. Revenge was served and St Pierre had his first title in UFC.

UFC 94 - Vs B.J. Penn II - January 31, 2009

Like St Pierre, B.J. Penn is one of only six fighters ever who can say they have been two-division champions. GSP had beaten Penn en route to his date with Hughes and claiming his first title, but now he was in his second reign as welterweight champion and Brazilian Penn was the lightweight champion.

Penn returned to lightweight to right the wrong of his fist loss to St Pierre, but the Canadian would not let that happen. St Pierre would utterly dominate Penn before a corner stoppage in the fourth round. Some controversy followed the fight after Penn's camp alleged St Pierre had applied some vaseline to make him slippery during the fight, but no action was taken by the Nevada State Commission despite a hearing.

UFC 217 - Vs Michael Bisping - November 4, 2017

GSP had been in the wilderness for nearly exactly four years when he decided to answer the call to fight at middleweight against then-champion Michael Bisping. This was Rush's chance to become one of the few men to ever reign in two divisions in the UFC.

St Pierre did not disappoint with a comprehensive victory over the mouthy Bisping that resulted in a fourth-round submission via rear naked choke. Even after all that time out and stepping up in weight, GSP looked like he hadn't missed a step.

UFC 83 - Vs Matt Serra - April 9, 2008

This is another tale of revenge. Coming into their first fight at UFC 69, nobody gave Serra a chance in upsetting the great GSP. However, a huge right hand in the first round sent GSP stumbling and Serra pounced to score a stoppage and shock the world.

That would be the last time St Pierre ever lost. After defeating Josh Koscheck and Matt Hughes in a rubber stamp match, St Pierre put his interim title against Serra's real belt and got his chance to correct the record. This time, GSP was locked in from the get-go and almost immediately took down Serra at the start of the fight. After totally overwhelming his opponent, a barrage of knees to Serra's body put the exhausted champ away late in the second round.
